  • Confirmation 2020

    Thu 27 Aug 2020

The children of St Patrick’s P.S, Moneymore, received the Sacrament of Confirmation on Wednesday 26th August. They were proudly supported by Fr Mc Ardle, their teachers, families and sponsors. The children looked lovely and participated very reverently in the ceremony. We wish the children every success as they progress to Secondary school. May the Holy Spirit guide them in their decision-making and protect them in the future.

  • Returning to school

    Wed 26 Aug 2020

    Dear Parents,

I hope you are all well. All pupils will return to school on Tuesday 1st September. They will wear their full school uniform and they can bring a schoolbag to hold their healthy snack, lunch-box, plastic water bottle, colours, plastic folder etc. They can arrive to school between 8.30-9am. Each class will enter by the external Fire Exit Door of the classroom and will be supervised until 9 o'clock. Everyone will sanitise upon entering and exiting the classroom. The children will wash their hands before eating and after toileting, sneezing & coughing. Children can bring their own sanitiser and tissues if they wish. The children will remain in their protective 'bubble' (class) for learning, eating and playing. The wearing of masks is optional for staff and pupils. Staff will wear PPE when responding to the Intimate Care needs of the children. Social distancing requirements remain for adults and we ask that you keep this in mind when dropping off and collecting your children. We will operate staggered break and dinner times. Dinner will be available in the school canteen from 1st September, at a cost of £2.60 per day for anyone wishing to purchase dinner. Lunches should be sent in a plastic lunchbox or wrapped in disposable packaging. Milk will not be available at break-time until the beginning of October. There are currently no plans to run Breakfast Club or After-School Clubs. The P.1 pupils will go home at noon for the month of September. The P.2 pupils will go home at 2pm. The P.3 pupils can be collected at the Fire Exit door of the classroom at 2.55pm. The P.4-P.7 pupils will be escorted out of the school at 3pm, maintaining social distancing as they leave. Children (and staff) who have symptoms of Covid 19 (continuous cough, high temperature or anosmia) must not attend school. If anyone becomes unwell in school, they will be sent home and advised to follow the PHA guidance. I am confident that if we all work together and follow the precautions and practices outlined, we can safeguard the health, safety and well-being of the entire school community as much as possible.

    Yours sincerely,

    Mrs Mc Anenly

  • Time Capsule

    Sun 03 May 2020

    Dear Parents and Children,

This year will go down in history as a year when the world changed because of COVID 19. Our lives have changed dramatically since the restrictions have come into place to minimise the spread of the virus. The world will undoubtedly be very different when we get to the other side. To mark this historical moment in time, I would like you to complete your own time capsule. You can download a booklet from twinkl.co.uk/resource/time capsule. Keep it as a record of your time during Coronavirus or create your own pages. Design your own time capsule out of anything you have at home for e.g a shoe box or lunch box.

Put some of the following into your time capsule:

Photos – showing things you did at home e.g  P.E, baking, cycling

You might also want to include photos of empty roads, streets and parks!

Newspaper clippings -positive and negative stories.

    Artwork

    Memories of special times

Letter/diary entries (the diary will convey your personal thoughts)

Interviews -this will be a great way to show future generations how everyone felt about having to stay at home.

Games/Pack of Cards – to show how families were connecting by playing games and going back to basics.

I hope you enjoy making this capsule, I would love to see some photos of you with your time capsule.

    Have Fun!
