A big thank you to Gerard Diamond for sourcing topsoil for us, it’s greatly appreciated! The pupils got stuck in filling the garden beds and we even have plenty left over for potting. Lots of hard work, a bit of dirt, and plenty of effort all round. Well done, everyone!
The sun is finally shining and it’s made a lovely difference in the garden!
Our P7s have been busy getting the raised beds ready, adding topsoil and compost, and planting carrots and radishes in the first bed
We also set out some old tyres to fill with plants soon and brighten up with paint
The girls enjoyed exploring the bug hotels too, finding lots of little creatures making themselves at home
Great to be back with our P7 Garden Club after Easter!
Today we harvested rhubarb, tidied up the garden, planted broad beans, and got the greenhouse back in shape.
A few pupils took some rhubarb home, hopefully the start of some tasty creations! So nice to see the fruits of our labour already.
We celebrated our Term 2 Prize Giving today for Mathletics, Accelerated Reading and Paired Reading.
Well done to all the children on their fantastic achievements! 🌟
Busy day at gardening club! We’ve planted our potatoes in grow bags, fingers crossed for a great crop of spuds in a few months! We also had a go at planting some lettuce in our mini greenhouse. Looking forward to seeing how everything grows over the coming weeks.
Lots of hands on deck at Gardening club this week! The children had great fun getting part of the garden ready for our wildflower planting. We’re hoping to see it full of colour and in bloom by June! Meanwhile, another group put their problem-solving skills to the test by building a mini greenhouse so we can start planting seeds and help them grow strong. A fantastic team effort from everyone involved.
Another productive Gardening club session. We’re getting the garden spring-ready, completing our big bug hotels and chitting our potatoes ready for planting this term.
Our P7 After-School Garden Club has returned after the winter break, and not even the rain could slow us down! We created bug hotels using natural materials, built a hedgehog house, began setting up our rain butt and started composting old leaves. The children are full of enthusiasm and ready to roll up their sleeves for spring planting.
Our P7 quiz team took part in the Doire Cumann na mBunscol Annual Quiz at St Mary’s Glenview today. The boys represented our school brilliantly and they thoroughly enjoyed the experience! Well done everyone!
