  • Children's Mental Health Week

    Fri 11 Feb 2022

    This week the school took part in Children's Mental Health Week.  In school we marked Mental Health Week by taking part in activities that fostered creativity, mindfulness, gratitude and kindess.  Today the Children dressed in colourful clothes to express themselves and we chose to collect donations for Aware.  Everyone participated well in all the activities and had lots of fun!

  • Safer Internet Day

    Yesterday was Safer Internet Day. Our Digital Leaders gave a presentation to P3-P7 on how to stay safe and be respectful when online. Every class also completed tasks to mark Safer Internet Day. 

  • Visit from local author

    Fri 04 Feb 2022

    On Friday 4th February, Sheena Wilkinson, visited our school.  She is a well-known author of short stories and novels.  She has won many awards for her writing.  Sheena Wilkinson delivered an inspiring presentation to the Key Stage 2 pupils, reflecting on her childhood in Belfast and her life as a writer.  The children really enjoyed the presentation. 

  • Time steps - Ancient Egypt

    On Wednesday 2nd February, Stephanie from Time Steps returned to deliver a workshop on Ancient Egypt to the pupils in P5/6.  This was an engaging and interactive workshop, that allowed the pupils to learn all about life during the Ancient Egyptian times, and they were able to view Egyptian artefacts.  Thank you again to Stephanie for bringing Ancient Egypt to life!

  • Time Steps Titanic

    On Tuesday 1st February, Stephanie from Time Steps came in to the P6/7 classroom to deliver a fantastic workshop all about The Titanic.  We learned lots of interesting information about what life was like during 1912 in Northern Ireland, and about the crew and passengers of The Titanic.  To finish the workshop the pupils took part in a ship building exercise to see who's ship could float the longest.  Thank you to Stephanie for bringing The Titanic to life in our classroom, the boys and girls of P6/7 enjoyed this immensely!
