School/Parent Partnerships

Working in partnership with parents. We aim to work in partnership with parents and we encourage them to be as involved as possible in the education of their child. We involve parents in school life in many ways:

 

  1. Outline of Term Events distributed and made available on school website.
     
  2. Frequent letters and messages about school events (Text-Messaging Service – ‘Call Parents’)
     
  3. Parent Teacher Meetings on pupil progress, discussion of I.E.P’s and meetings on Transfer Procedure.
     
  4. Annual Reports on Pupil Progress.
     
  5. Meetings with external agencies including School Psychologist, Behavioural Support Team and Peripatetic Services of SELB.
     
  6. Information Sessions for e.g. Induction for P1 Pupils, Catch Up in Numeracy Programme, Numeracy Support Programme and Book-banding Approach to Reading.
     
  7. Alive-O Programme including Sacramental Meetings.
     
  8. Christmas Nativity Plays (helping children with scripts, costumes, setting up the stage etc.)
     
  9. School Masses and Ceremonies.
     
  10. Paired Reading and Reading Partnership Programme.
     
  11. Annual Book Fair.
     
  12. Educational Trips
     
  13. Travelwise – Walk or Cycle to School Initiative.
     
  14. Halloween Fancy dress.
     
  15. Sports Day.
